My husband and I hired Attorney Joanne Leifheit after hearing her estate planning presentation at a seminar planned by our credit union. We hired her because of her professionalism, easy to relate to style and her kind and compassionate demeanor. Upon our initial in-office consultation regarding esta...te planning, we knew Atty. Leifheit was the attorney for us. She listened very carefully to our estate planning goals and personal situations and made recommendations along the way that would best fulfill our needs. I can see where estate planning could be overwhelming, but Atty. Leifheit and her professional staff took the burden off of us and simplified the process with an easy check list of what documents we needed to gather from our personal and financial accounts. They prepared all legal documents and explained them thoroughly to us. We were never hurried or rushed in their office. They took their time until we understood all legal documents and answered all of our questions. Atty. Leifheit really went the extra mile to clarify things and make sure those details were documented. She is extremely thorough. We felt as though our estate planning needs were of the utmost importance to Atty. Leifheit and her incredible staff. If we had known the estate planning process could be done with such ease.... we would have (and we should have) done it years ago!

We have used Joanne and her team three times on various elder law and estate planning matters. We love the free info session she runs a few times a month. It was helpful for us to understand the different kinds of trusts, etc., and helped us be better educated when we started asking specific question...s. I feel that Joanne always gave us options, and helped us understand the trade-offs and implications of each. Joanne helped my family make sure all of the needed powers of attorney and related documents were in place when my dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. She and her staff were kind, compassionate, and worked with my dad in a relaxed, un-rushed way. She was thorough, patient, and quick. After dad passed away, she helped us work through the process of getting the right paperwork to the county, the insurance companies, etc., making a difficult time much easier. She also helped my step-mom (in her 80's) update her will, advanced directive, powers of attorney, etc. Again, she was caring, compassionate, and easy to work with. My step mom felt cared about and well taken care of. Finally, my wife and I had Joanne help us with setting up a trust, as well as updating our powers of attorney, wills, etc. They covered all of the details, made sure everything was done correctly, filed all of the documents as needed and made the process as simple as possible. Our appointments have always been on time, and she has always been prepared for our visits. I felt that in all cases the charges were very fair, and she didn't "nickel and dime" us on any of the little things - they were just included in the quoted price.
