Low price, not responsive, many details missed.
I hired Attorney Wiesmueller for my divorce representation. My divorce should've been straightforward with no children, no property, with only maintenance needing to be settled.
I only met with Atty. Wiesmueller in person twice; once for the initial consultation, and once to sign over the chec...k.
That being said, on looking at the work she did on my case, I'd like to note the following:
My main concern is that Attorney Wiesmueller lacks attention to detail.
- My spouse's address had to be given to Attorney Wiesmueller's office three times before it was finally taken care of.
- My spouse's first name was wrong in the summons. My spouse's last name was filed incorrectly with the court.
- My last name was repeatedly misspelled.
- Documentation to opposing counsel was lacking all the necessary pages, impacting negotiations. I had to highlight this to the office.
- I was sent an incorrect bill for another client.
- My address to send documents from her changed during the case; this was never updated.
- Atty. Wiesmueller never filed my signed financial disclosure with the court within the 90 days of service as required despite this being completed early on in the process.
- The draft Marital Settlement agreement contained numerous grammatical and organizational mistakes. It also had several pieces of information which I requested be incorporated which were missing.
- I had to ask several times for copies of documentation in e-mails.
- Her e-mails were not organized in a logical manner - with a lack of subject.
Atty. Wiesmueller also works largely part-time in her office. Very rarely were my calls returned, or even answered. Much of her work was split with her partner and husband, Atty. Christopher Wiesmueller. Chris has his own unique style and his own challenges and strengths.
She was very communicative of the billing and was very considerate of her time and I appreciate her consideration in this.
We wound up having a falling out because I felt she was not responsive and she felt I was rude; we decided to part ways and I feel my case is better for it.
I believe that Atty. Wiesmueller has the potential to be an excellent attorney, but she would be better served if she had an office staff. If you choose to retain her, understand that her low rates come at a price.
