Law was my second career, I became a lawyer to help people who were accused of criminal wrongdoing, knowing that innocent people get charged and sent to prison often, but also sometimes good people make mistakes, and those mistakes should not define their lives. As a law student I helped start the Michigan Innocence Project, and was one of two students to serve on the Innocence Board for the State of Michigan. After leaving law school I worked for Roth & Binn developing a criminal law practice. Within a year of working there Roth & Binn were bought out by Davis & Kuelthau, s.c. D&K was a good group of lawyers, but they had no criminal practice base, and were not interested in me developing one. I left that firm and began working for the State Public Defender. In 2005, I decided it was time to open my own practice in an effort to focus my skills on those areas of law that best suited my clients and myself.
I began handling family law cases in 2006, in an effort to assist some clients from my criminal practice. I take a standard approach in all family law cases, the kids are the most important people involved. I will litigate aggressively for my client, but never to the detriment of the children.
My theory of practicing law is, do what needs to be done in order to help the client. Whether it is a Criminal Law matter, or an action that affects the family, my job is to help you, not make decisions that cost you more money. My goal is to be effective and efficient, and in doing so getting the best result that is affordable to my client.
I have always felt that practicing law was a privilege and that helping people is one of the best things a person can do in their lives.

Great attorney
Was knowledgeable about my case and helped me understand many parts of it. Still helps me several years later, and even gave me a free consultation about a different matter. Gets back to me about things I may be having issues with.

Very Favorable Outcome.
I Recommend that you consider Christopher Lyle Kuehn as your criminal defense attorney. I found Mr. Kuehn to be fully engaged and very accommodating in guiding us through the legal system and all the its sometimes complicated interpretations. Mr Kuehn was in control of the entire process. He would ...
"I endorse this lawyer. Chris and I recently worked together on a paternity case where the father filed in Wisconsin and our client was a resident of the state of Texas. We were able to successfully challenge jurisdiction and got the case dismissed by the Wisconsin court. Chris did an excellent job."
"Chris is an experienced criminal law attorney. He has a great legal mind and knows how to think outside the box."
"I have worked for years under Chris, first as a legal assistant while in law school, now as an associate attorney. As a result of working for him, I have quite the grasp of how to handle criminal cases. I have seen him do amazing things in court for various clients."
"I endorse this lawyer. Chris has really brought renewed energy and new ideas to the firm. We are glad to have him aboard."
"I endorse this lawyer. I first met Mr. Kuehn as local counsel for a co-defendant in a large Walworth County marijuana manufacturing conspiracy case. Mr. Kuehn was professional, helpful in discussing the peculiarities of local court and district attorney office procedures and clearly with the right attitude towards these kinds of cases for a defense attorney. I've since had the opportunity to discuss some other legal issues related to drug and paraphernalia charges with Mr. Kuehn, and have an appreciation for his dedication and sometimes creative approach to fighting against the often overzealous prosecution of these offenses in Walworth County."
"Mr. Kuehn and I worked well together to the advantage of our mutual client - he in Wisconsin, I in Texas. We fought jurisdictional issues, and Chris was of great support and assistance in analyzing the various UCCJEA factors for our client's benefit. The competing WI action of our client's ex was summarily dismissed. Further, the ex also had contrived criminal actions pending in WI against our mutual client, which Chris expertly handled, and which was also dismissed. The Texas case would not have been successful absent his well-versed, aggressive representation there. Great job!"
"I endorse this lawyer's work. Mr. Kuehn has a brilliant mind for criminal matters. He is detail orientated, which is very important in the criminal arena. I would send someone in my family to him and also call him to consult on important matters of a constitutional nature. On top of all that, he is kind and compassionate."
