We hired this lawyer to represent a member of our family. We feel that he did not do an adequate job in representing this person and did not even defend this person at all, but agreed with what the district attorney said, not even asking for a reduction in the sentence or other options so that this p...erson did not have to sit in jail and be away from his/her family. Our impression was that, we thought the lawyer's job was to help whom he is representing. Plus the person's past record was brought up and James Finn did not even defend that either. Besides, the time was already served for the past cases and were irrelevant to the present case. When the lawyer was walking out of court, after the sentencing hearing, he turned to his person that he represented and said something to the effect of that after reading this person's record, he knew that he could not help this person. Now is that something that you should not say to your client? We paid him money to say this to his client? WOW!!! How unprofessional!!!! We were so taken aback when we heard this! He never should have said that at all! We would never want anyone to experience the humiliation as he did towards this person. We would not recommend him to anyone.

I hired this lawyer for my divorce not long ago. He was very enthusiastic about my case, really encouraged me, but once I hired him and paid the retainer, he was tough to reach, was often busy in court or with another client. His fax machine and/or printer was always broken and his secretary was unab...le to do basic office things. To give him credit, he is not late to court, but came often unprepared, confused about my case and I felt like most of the preparation was done last minute, a few minutes prior to our scheduled hearing. He seemed very easily irritated with the apposing party's attorney all the time and most of the time after he and the other attorney spoke with the judge, he came out angry and in the end, my interests were not represented at all, not even partially. However, he was always very courteous with me, very nice with the lawyers, court staff, our social workers and came in extra to chat with them about mine and other cases he had. I didn't feel offended by him, but overall, not mine nor my child's interests were represented.
