After my wife passed suddenly earlier this year, I contacted 4 different local Law Firms about what I needed (one being the legal adoption of my disabled step daughter). Our first meeting with Tim Ament goes back to 2012. At that time we were just asking questions about grandparents rights. Unfortunately we found out that grandparents rights in the state of Iowa were pretty weak and that the biological parents were in full control of the child's contact with grandpar...ents. We had actually come to the conclusion we would have to wait to see our grandson when >he -turned 18 and was of legal age to make his own decisions. Years went by with no contact with our grandson.
