Our first meeting with Tim Ament goes back to 2012. At that time we were just asking questions about grandparents rights. Unfortunately we found out that grandparents rights in the state of Iowa were pretty weak and that the biological parents were in full control of the child's contact with grandpar...ents. Over the years following this visit we researched grandparents rights through other agencies and felt we fell into a large group of people who were denied access to their children and grandchildren. We had actually come to the conclusion we would have to wait to see our grandson when >he -turned 18 and was of legal age to make his own decisions. Years went by with no contact with our grandson. We approached the Ament law firm with new information and he looked at our case and felt it was well worth us pursuing, guardianship of our grandson.
