I came into the practice of law after studying for six years to be a Catholic priest, after which I spent 10 years traveling all over the Unites States and Mexico, to Europe, and to Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and iNdia. During this time, I got to live with people from all walks of life, from poor to rich, and with people of many different religions. While on the road, I was preaching Christianity, but it was a Christianity based on the fact that we are all brothers and isters, of One Family, and that we need to love and care for each other, and for our world in general.
At the end of this 10 years, I went through some expereinces that led directly to my entry into law school. Sicne becoming a lawyer, I have had the privilege of defending many persons, both in immigration court and in criminal court. I have developed a law practice focused on family immigrant and deportation defense, with a specialty in criminal deportatioin defense. I have given many Continuing Legal Education seminars to alwyers on this area of the law for many years.
I was adjusnct professor in immigration law for Drake Law School from 1997 to 2004. our law office also led the response to the big ICE immigraiton raid in Postville in 2008. I continue my law practice here in Iowa, with my focus now bering the reunification of families while continuing to work in the area of immigration deportation. I enjoy my pracitce and my clients. I thank God for this wonderful opportunity to be of service.
