Biography
Laura Lockwood is a diligent and zealous advocate for her clients. Laura will get to know her clients and their cases as she navigates them through their difficult legal issues. Laura practiced as a sole practitioner for two years before joining Hartung & Schroeder in 2015. Laura maintains an extensive litigation practice, representing clients involved in divorce, child custody, adoption, termination of parental rights, and any other family law matter. Laura also extends her legal practice to the areas of personal injury, and probate.
Laura was born and raised in North Liberty, Iowa. She graduated from Clear Creek Amana High School as valedictorian in 2000. She attended the University of Iowa on an athletic scholarship and graduated in 2004 with High Distinction and Honors with a bachelor’s of science degree in psychology and a minor in sociology. As a student athlete on the University of Iowa's women’s softball team, Laura earned Academic All-Big Ten and Academic All-American Honors. Laura received her law degree from Drake University Law School in 2008.
Laura is actively involved in the Iowa State Bar Association, Polk County Bar Association, Polk County Women Attorneys, Blackstone Inn of Court, and the Central Iowa Association of Collaborative Professionals. Laura is married with two children. She enjoys yogo, biking, gardening, and spending time with her family.
