The case involved medical malpractice for the failure to diagnose and treat in situ breast cancer. Due to the delay, the cancer grew and spread into the patients lymph nodes resulitng in a far worst pr ... ognosis and more invasive treatment which included mastectomy and radiation therapy. The prognosis suggested the delay would likely cause the cancer to recur as metastatic disease which would be terminal. As a result , damages were collected for both the medical malpractice claim and future wrongful death claim for her minor daughter and husband.
