I was charged (erroneously) with Operating While Intoxicated (1st Offence) or OWI in August 2012 after I'd accidentally fallen asleep at the wheel while driving fatigued for a short time, and drove off the road and crashed into a fence. Wanting to fight the charge with everything I could, I was recommended by a friend of my father's to Mr. Ellis. Immediately I knew he would be the best choice for my case, as it was very complicated due to the issue of the arresting officer being unable to collect a drug screen from me due to dehydration (it was a very hot August), which was counted as a refusal. In the end I prevailed and it was due to the diligence and zeal put out by Mr. Ellis. He and his junior attorney worked night and day on my case and read through Harry Potter book-sized legal resources to build my defence and researched expert witnesses to help my case as well. This great perseverance and determination left me greatly satisfied, and Mr. Ellis was also very affordable, as some other great lawyers charge far more for the same level of service that I received. I would highly recommend Mr. Ellis to anyone in that difficult situation and I never once could say I had second thoughts about Mr. Ellis' firm.
Ryan J. Ellis grew up in central Iowa. After high school, he played football and studied at Northwest Missouri State University. A very influencial professor in the Criminal Justice Department convinced Mr. Ellis to apply for law school. After interning with a criminal defense lawyer in Washington D.C. and participating in felony trials, Mr. Ellis knew what he wanted to do.
Mr. Ellis attended Creighton University School of law and gained more expereince while working with a prominent criminal defense lawyer in Omaha, Nebraska.
Upon graduation, Mr. Ellis returned to central Iowa where he worked for a firm in Des Moines before opening a law office in Indianola, Iowa. His next assignment was to work as a Drug Prosecutor for the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Task Force. Mr. Ellis handled several hundred drug cases. As a Drug Prosecutor, he gained valuable felony and misdemeanor trial experience.
In 2001, Mr. Ellis founded Ellis Law Offices, P.C. His experience as a prosecutor has been invaluable. Mr. Ellis successfully tried two First Degree Murder cases and several other felony and misdemeanor cases. He has represented thousands of clients during his tenure.
Mr. Ellis is now utilizing his trial experience in civil personal injury cases, criminal cases, OWI caes and others.
