Michael T. Edwards

Hi, my name is Michael Thomas Edwards, I am 46 years old and have been practicing law right here in Northern Lower Michigan for 18 years.  In fact, I have spent most of my life living and working here in Northern Lower Michigan.  I am a 1986 graduate from Cheboygan Area High School.  In 1991, I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior.  In 1996 I earned my law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School where I graduated with honors (Cum Laude).  After acquiring my law license in 1996, I returned to Cheboygan where I concentrated my practice in real estate litigation and municipal representation.  In November 1997, I moved to Gaylord where I continued my real estate and municipal practice and started a family law practice.  In 2005, I had the opportunity to open my own law office at 522 West Main Street, Gaylord, where I still practice today. 

During my 18 year career, I have represented hundreds of Northern Michigan residents.  These people include hard working men and woman, active military men and woman, disabled veterans, local attorneys, police officers, county officials, and local business owners.  I also represent the interests of numerous Northern Michigan municipalities including: The City of Grayling, Cold Springs Township (Kalkaska County), Star Township (Antrim County) and Tuscarora Township (Cheboygan County).  I also serve as general legal counsel for the Gladwin, Benzie and Montmorency County Road Commissions.  I represent non-profit organizations such as the Otsego County Fair Board and the Eagles of Gaylord.  And I have represented numerous local businesses such as Kasper Industries, Sacs Wellness, Morehouse Landscaping, The Phoenix Building of Gaylord and Arby’s of Gaylord.  I have also represented larger corporations such as Citizens Bank, FirstMerit Bank, Community Financial Credit Union, Consumers Energy Company, and First American Title Insurance Company.
