Jesse Williams saved my life!

I am so blessed to have had Jesse Williams for my defense attorney. In the fall of 2014 I got caught up in the mess of a lifetime over a simple misunderstanding with Michigan's very confusing medical marijuana law. And it happened in a very conservative county in the upper peninsula so the cards were... stacked against me from the very beginning. The prosecutor wanted me severely punished because I was a public school teacher that had a medical marijuana card and he was very difficult to deal with. The prosecutor constantly pushed back dates, and didn't bring evidence to court. He made all kinds of excuses to draw out the length of my defense. Jesse was incredible in the court room and he does a great job with questioning witnesses and talking to the judge. He sometimes suprised us with quick changes in direction of his questioning that led to very helpful answers. We fought for two years and we were about to go to trial before a reasonable plea bargain was offered. I was originally facing 5 felonies a max of 37 years (which was totally ridiculous) in prison, and my plea bargain boiled down to one felony that can be expunged, and 6 months probation. Jesse also convinced the judge to allow me to access cannabis for medicinal purposes while on probation which is a huge victory considering the chronic pain condition that I suffer from. In those two years worth of battle Jesse always did a great job of doing what was best for me. He loves to go to battle in trial, but said he thought trial wasn't what was best for me. I think most lawyers would have advised what was best for their pocket books in that case because going to trial would have been a nice sized pay check for him. But he wanted what was best for me and he honestly cared about getting me the best possible outcome. In a few years I will have a clean record and will be able to get back to teaching if I want. And most importantly, he saved me from sitting in prison for a crime I really didn't commit. I would recommend him to anyone who is in trouble because he was worth every penny and then some. My family and I will always be greatful for what he did for us.

recommend Jesse

My son was pulled over on I-75 this past Summer for alleged speeding and ended up being charged for possession of marijuana brownies. We hired Jesse to represent him. Jesse gave good advice and guidance throughout the process. He is an expert in the field of marijuana laws. My son ended up with a ...misdemeanor charge of improper transportation, no probation, and minimal fines. Hopefully, this can be expunged in five years. We were expecting worse, as my son did not comply 100% with is court ordered random drug testing. I attended my son's final dispostion and witnessed several cases that went ahead of us, all being represented by the public defenders. Those very similar cases did not fare as well, and made me glad that we made the decision to hire Jesse. I would highly recommend him.

Great lawyer who cares about helping others!

Mr. Williams took over our case after our previous lawyer failed to get results. Within 24 hours he had the charges against my son reduced and got him in a "First Offender" program so that it will be off of his record in one year. He truly showed compassion and concern and we are forever grateful ...to him.

"I met Jesse Williams through his participation with the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan and their Trial College. Jesse is an extremely talented attorney who is unique in his drive to fight for his clients. I have practiced in the Traverse City area on occasion, and it is one of the most difficult places to practice in the state of Michigan. The judges are incredibly tough, and at times make it very difficult to exercise your client's constitutional rights. Jesse never allows judges or prosecutors to kick him or his clients around. He is willing to stand up and fight like very few other attorneys. I would recommend Jesse to anyone looking for a criminal defense attorney."

"In Northern Michigan, there aren't too many attorneys who are willing to fight against all odds for their clients. Jesse is an exceptional lawyer who is willing to battle the government for his clients. I've seen Jesse fight for clients in cases that seem totally destined for failure. Through his legal knowledge and compassion for his clients, Jesse is able to repeatedly beat down the government and obtain great results for his clients."

"Jesse is one of only a few "up north" lawyers that I can depend on for solid advice as a down state attorney. He is a real fighter who is not afraid to buck the system, and he provides top notch representation to his clients throughout northern Michigan. If you're looking for a pitbull to handle a case, you can't go wrong with Jesse."
