Melissa did not make me aware that child support could be changed. I only agreed because our assets were split so unevenly. She didn’t file the needed paperwork for my settlement until I finally got my ex-husband’s employer involved, which led to a my credit score being demolished, wasting thousands ...of dollars on a 3 bedroom condo so that my 3 kids could stay in our school district and have transportation. As a single mom I could not provide that. Luckily I was able to increase my credit score just before I had nothing left for retirement. My ex kept our expensive home and paid me from his 401K, which I had to pay taxes on in order to take out to pay of debt and put a down payment on a new home. I have since increased my salary through hard work and risking starting my own private practice. Additionally, she did not advise me on how to handle the fact that my ex-husband and I had been putting 10K a year in a retirement account through his work for 10 years, which he told me was “not real or possible to access”. (I didn’t have any money to do a deep dive or fight him on this). Her bad representation will cost me 100s of thousands of $$ in the long run. My divorce was 7 years ago. I’m still struggling though I have gotten myself to a place where I can make good money. Please do not use this attourny. She was referred to me by a friend who had a very simple divorce.

Well, the title says it all; this woman was in the middle of dealing with our case. She, quite literally, ran away from it. If I could give her zero stars I would. For backstory, my mother came to her with a divorce case. Throughout her marriage she was abused along with her four children (myself in...cluded) for upwards of 25 years. This woman talked as if everything would be handled within the year and had all our evidence. To make matters worse, the only way she could have a job at her firm was to have experience with our kind of abuse. We thought everything was going to be okay. Fast forward a few months and, without and notification to us, she left to Michigan. We haven't heard from her since. Ever since she left this same firm has moved us from attorney to attorney and not done anything with our case. To this day we have paid upwards of $20,000 to try and handle our case and nothing has been done. They have threatened to release us, go after us for non payment, and sue. Knowing the stress we have been under. We have had to now, contact the bar. Do not contact this woman, she helped make our lives worse.

Melissa has a way of connecting on a personal level which helped to ease my anxiety and fears ...about my case. Inside the court room her presence can definitely be felt.
