Stephanie’s experience in both trial court litigation and appellate work results in a unique skill set. At the trial court level, she anticipates appellate needs, creating a strong appellate record and adequately preserving issues, and at the appellate level, she appreciates the practical effect of appellate litigation on continued trial court proceedings and business relationships. Stephanie is particularly strong in the areas of research and writing, oral argument, and developing legal case strategy.
Stephanie represents clients in all phases of litigation. She postures cases for trial or effective settlement negotiations through detailed case workup, extensive motion practice, exhaustive discovery and thorough deposition preparation. Stephanie has successfully handled cases in the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Michigan Supreme Court and has also represented clients who have an interest in the law created by other cases, appearing as Amicus Counsel in high-profile cases.
Stephanie honed her research and writing skills during her tenure as a law clerk for Judges Buth and Redford in the 17th Circuit Court and Judge Baillargeon in the 48th Circuit Court, where she reviewed motions, researched legal issues, drafted legal opinions in both civil and criminal cases, and gained valuable insight into the inner workings of the court.
