I hired Joel in January 2001 because of my DUI arrest in December of 2000. Joel immediately took charge and had it listed as a 1st offense with no jail time (even though I had a DUI in 1997). This was good because 3 months later I got another DUI. He got this one down to a misdemeanor also with n...o jail time. I hired him again this year to try to get my license reinstated. He walked me through the process, gave me excellent advice, and coached me on what to expect at the hearing. He was very professional in representing me at the hearing and I am thrilled! For the first time in 16 years I will have a driver's license because of his representation! From: Client of Joel Whetstone To whom it may concern, I retained the services of the Constitutional Law Center/Joel Whetstone to represent me in my defense of an “Operating While Intoxicated (OWI)” Citation that I received from a police officer, after being pulled over for speeding. During my i...nitial meeting with Mr. Whetstone, he carefully reviewed the actions taken by the police officer during my arrest, and believed the police officer did not follow proper procedures in administering “breathalyzer” tests along the roadside, or at a second set of “breathalyzer” tests conducted at the Sheriff's office/county jail. In addition, Mr. Whetstone asked if I received a speeding ticket for the offense that I was pulled over for, and my answer was that I did not receive a speeding ticket, which seamed rather unusual to Mr. Whetstone. Mr. Whetstone then requested time and date stamped copies of the “breathalyzer” tests from the police department and the sheriff’s office, and he determined that the “breathalyzer” tests were improperly conducted, and did not follow Michigan State published guidelines for administration. Mr. Whetstone presented the results and administration of the “breathalyzer” tests to the Judge hearing my case, and the Judge agreed with Mr. Whetstone, and dismissed my “OWI” Citation. In summary, Mr. Whetstone handled my case in a very professional and insightful manner, and I was very pleased with the results. In addition, his administrative staff was very prompt and courteous in following up with me on all of the details and paperwork related to my case.
