I represent claimants in the areas of Workers' Compensation and Social Security Disability. In 2020, I was inducted into the State Bar of MI Workers' Compensation Law Section Hall of Fame. For many years, I have been a member of the Michigan State Bar Foundation, an honor given to only 5% of the lawyers in the state of Michigan. On various occassions, I have been listed in Michigan Super Lawyers in the area of Workers' Compensation. For many years, I have been selected as a Leading Lawyer in Social Security and Workers Compensation by the Leading Lawyers Network. I have published several articles in the areas of Work Comp and Social Security. I have an AV rating from Martindale/Hubbell, the highest rating given in the areas of integrity and skill. I'm active in my community as I'm a member of the Board of Trustees for Muskegon Community College (initially elected in 1998), the Governing Board of Muskegon's First Congregational Church, the Board of Jefferson Towers (a low income senior citizen complex in Muskegon), and the Hackley Distinguished Lecture Nominating Committee. I've also been the Secretary, Treasurer, Vice- President and President of the Muskegon County Bar Association.
I truly care about my clients' needs; I give my all to help. Roy Portenga
