I envisioned updating my will and POAs being a very stressful/painful process, but that wasn't the case at all. Adams team was efficient, professional and extremely helpful. I was sent a pre-meeting checklist which was concise and didn't make me feel overwhelmed and I had 2 weeks to work on it. Th...is gave me time to look for papers, fill out information, and in general, put my thoughts and questions to rest so I wasn't stressed going into the initial meeting. They were also available to assist when questions arose. The initial meeting was casual but productive and I felt I was in good hands. Adam answered all questions, even the ones that were from out in left field. I also appreciated that there was flat pricing for only what I needed and wasn't charged for things that were not relevant. When Adam was done with all paperwork, I was emailed a copy to look over before the final meeting to sign all documents. I knew what was going on every step of the way. I also know if I have any future questions, they are phone call away. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this team.

Why we selected West Michigan Law to create our estate plan and are very glad we did! After my wife and I retired, we wanted to create an estate plan that fit our family needs. There are many legal firms in the local area heavily promoting trusts (which can be expensive to create) with no discu...ssion of alternatives. One firm’s approach wanted us to fill out a very comprehensive packet of information including financial institution accounts and social security numbers before meeting with an attorney. From our perspective, this was intrusive and presumed we needed a trust. West Michigan Law was the only firm that stated from the beginning there are alternatives to a trust. Yes, we had to send in a packet of information before our meeting, but it was not as intrusive as the other firm and did not seem to presume a solution to our needs. After meeting with attorney Adam Zuwerink at West Michigan Law, we determined a trust was not necessary and appropriate documents were created within two weeks. Shannon Dykstra did an excellent job during our final document reviews helping us understand the “legalese.” All documents were filed with the appropriate county or medical institution for us. All of this was done for a very reasonable fee! If you are looking to create, or update, your estate plan, and are not sure what to do , we highly recommend Michigan Law.
