Thomas J. Allen

Thomas J. Allen is an attorney of Law Office of Thomas Allen PC, a general practice law firm in Kalamazoo, Michigan, that practices in civil, criminal, family, and juvenile law. Mr. Allen is licensed to practice law in the State of Michigan, Federal Court, and Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Michigan. He was born and raised in Kalamazoo, graduating from Kalamazoo Loy Norrix High School in 2000. In 2004, he received a B.A. from the University of Michigan, where he majored in English. In 2007, he received a J.D. from the Michigan State University College of Law, where he completed the Geoffrey N. Fieger Trial Advocacy Institute, an exclusive 2-year program limited to only 30 students. During Law School, Mr. Allen served as Clerk to the Honorable J. Richardson Johnson at the 9th Circuit Court in Kalamazoo County, and also worked for Glassen, Rhead, McLean, Campbell PLC in Lansing, Michigan, before transferring to the Cook County State’s Attorney Office in Chicago, Illinois. After law school, he was the Honorable Gary C. Giguere, Jr.'s Law Clerk, and later worked for Shea, Aiello, Doxsie & Petz PLLC, a Detroit area AV-rated firm, specializing in estate and business planning, and litigation/dispute resolution at all levels, including trials, arbitration and appeals. In 2009, Mr. Allen returned to Kalamazoo to start his own law firm, Law Office of Thomas Allen, where as Pro Bono counsel for a Defendant, he favorably settled a multi-million dollar MP3 file sharing case in Federal Court with the Recording Industry Association of America. In 2012 he joined Charles E. Martell, PC, an AV-rated firm, with his partner, Charles Martell. In 2018, he started his own law firm, Law Office of Thomas Allen PC. In addition to his general law practice, Mr. Allen is a Court Appointed Attorney for Juvenile Delinquency, and Juvenile Neglect cases in Kalamazoo. Mr. Allen is a former Director for the Bar Association Board of Directors. Mr. Allen was named one of 2016's Up & Coming Lawyers by Michigan Lawyers Weekly.
