Matthew R. Miller

I retained Matthew back in June of 2014. I was referred to him by another attorney to handle my child custody case. I met with Mr. Miller June 5, 2014. He asked for $3,000 up front and told me he would get to working on my case. In the mean time he advised me to keep my kids away from their dad per o...ur current JOD didn't reflect the parenting time my ex was currently doing. Months went by and nothing was filed with the courts and my phone calls and text messages to Matthew went unanswered. My ex husband ended up retaining an attorney and I was served with papers. I contacted Matthew and he told me he needed those papers, so I drove to his office and dropped them off to him. He told me he was going to call the opposing attorney and get back with me.. He NEVER called. August 19th, 2014 at 8:30am was our court date for the show cause hearing. Matthew showed up over an hour late for court, have me, the judge and the other attorney three different stories as to why he was late. When we finally started the hearing Matthew just sat there, never objected to anything. Matthew came unprepared for court, no file with any of the documents I had provided him with all along. I was threatened with going to jail and Matthew did nothing. The judge ended up stopping the hearing due to Matthew being extremely unprepared and late. I told Matthew the next day he was fired and asked for my money back because he did nothing to earn that $3,000. I have tried and tried to get a hold of Matthew and he refuses to answer me. I have never received a bill from Matthew explaining where he earned any of my money. I had to retain another attorney to try to clean up the mess Matthew created.

I have made him payments and thought at first maybe he would be good. But not, it took him 2 1/2 months from I had my wife served with custody and divorce, to get it into the courts for Custody, in the mean time my wife was playing games with my 2 year old and my 4 year old against me, and I tried t...o get a hold of him, no return calls and no acknowledgement of receipt of e-mails for over 3 weeks at time, and his voice mail was always full and couldn't leave any messages. Only time he would answer my calls is when he wanted more money. He didn't even object when the Judge or her attorney was saying wrong information. He didn't answer my questions because couldn't get a hold of him when I really needed to. We had Mediation, but he didn't even help that much in there and I got screwed in it, with less custody time of my sons then should had. He last told me he would work on the bill, Divorce Paperwork Finalized, and the Custody Holiday Schedule, none of this got done, and have not been able to talk to him over a month now, and undeliverable e-mail, and tried calling him at least 10 times a day to see what is going on with me case. No answers to the calls to his cell or office, now his office phone has been shut off and always his office phone or cell phone is always full and can't leave a message on it for him.He has made my holidays so bad, with not filing for Holiday Custody times for my son, and she is always say it is her days, and so she is playing games because none of the document filed, except for the Child Support 3 months late after her lawyer finally did the filing of it, but not other documents filed. After the Freind of the Court today, they contacted the Courts of all this and set a Court date of December 8th 2014 at 1:15pm to do a review to see what the problems of it all is, after they couldn't get a hold of my Attorney. I would not say this attorney is worth anything doing a job for you. Keep your money and go somewhere else if you want something done right and good. This attorney needs to be debarred for all the pain and not doing his job he is paid for. I need my Custody Holiday Schedule especially, since my wife is playing games always and wanting to be controlling when she is a immgrant from Philippines that used me to get to the USA.

I hired map for a custody issue he talked a good talk then once he had my money it was no more answering the phone five weeks later still no papers filed completely avoiding everything always late lying about court dates that don't exist I highly recommend you run as far away from this lawyer as poss...ible terrible terrible experience. The worst part about the whole experience was Matt and I went to the same school just 4 years apart so he made it seem like a sense of trust already there. I highly recommend finding a different lawyer!!!!!

if you call the posted number it is never answered and his mailbox is always full. he rarely returned any calls and is always late with any court documents. I've had him call from the courthouse telling me I needed to be there in 15 minutes if you have a case that needs to be worked on I would no...t use this lawyer's services.
