I hired Natalie Alane of Alane Family Law, formerly of Alane and Chartier, to represent me in a divorce case. I was charged approximately $33,000.00 dollars for a marriage that was under two years with no property or children. The case was riddled with mistakes. I live overseas, so scheduling was re...quired for planning travel. On one occasions, I was given the wrong date for a hearing. I had to follow up to obtain the correct date. One other occasion involved a date not placed on the court docket. I was later told that it was the fault of the court. I contacted the court to dispute, and I was told to contact my attorney; the issue involved my attorney. This was also a complicated case. My ex-wife suffered from Bipolar Disorder. I asked for an immediate hearing to resolve this issue due to the disorder and my assignment overseas. I was told by Natalie that we were required to mediate and could not request an immediate hearing. I've consulted with several attorneys, and I was told this was not true; especially since my ex-wife was disillusioned about her expectations. Her attorney filed motions for hearings and then cancelled. I addressed the process, because my bill was increasing, but was told by Natalie that this was the process and there was nothing that could be done. Natalie even attended one hearing with her legal assistant, at my expense, even though I objected. Even Judge Lostracco asked why she was sitting at the table. There were issues related to the filing of subpoenas. The costs were much higher, because information was not gathered during the initial filing. I was also charged for the removal of a SSN from a form that was submitted by Alane and Chartier and then resubmitted. We did eventually have a trial and I was not able to attend due to errors committed by Natalie's staff. As well, the trial preparation charges were excessive. I created a packet with all documents needed for the trial. The packet was based upon the accusations within the motion for divorced filed by opposing counsel. Natalie did not produce anything new beyond what was in the packet. I hired another attorney to help me recover monies owed to me by my ex-wife. The attorney informed me that my order, written by Natalie, was so poorly written that I would not be able to recover any monies without possibly spending more than I would recover. This case has caused me great stress. I do not recommend Natalie Alane!

I recently went thru a custody dispute where my ex was making false accusations and manipulating the children. Natalie was recommended to me by a friend who said as lawyers go she was a "Bull Dog". She was right! Upon my first consultation she reviewed the claims, instantly saw them for what they ...really were and reassured me that my case could be won. It was not uncommon to get emails from Natalie late in the evening or early in the morning. Many as late as 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning. She is tireless! I felt like I was her most valuable client thru the whole process. Her staff is 2nd to none, the too made me feel like I was the center of their universe. It's such a good feeling when you're in a stressful situation to feel like everything is going to be okay. She is honest and will tell you when things are in your favor or not. In my Emergency Injunction Hearing she proved to me she was the best. She out performed, out classed and proved the claims that were being made against my new wife and I were false. The judge sided with us and I was able to keep my kids for the summer and until the next hearing date. Soon after my ex wife softened here tone and became willing to "settle out of court". When the dust finally settled, I had more time with my kids than when I started. I'd hire her all over again if given the chance, there are no regrets. When a friend recently confided in me that he needed an attorney I didn't hesitate and gave him Natalie's contact information. I was involved in a high-conflict divorce include child custody issues. Natalie and her team were extremely thorough and attentive throughout the process. Our case ended up going to trial. They left no stone unturned. This was critical in the success of our case. In court, Natalie was strong, asserti...ve, and aggressive without being overbearing or obnoxious. Natalie was an absolute pleasure to work with. I had been going through issues with my child's mother for years. Issues such as horrible school attendance, domestic abuse, her drinking issues, etc. I tried speaking to my son's mother directly but the issues got so bad that I was forced to look into g...etting the courts involved. Natalie may be more expensive than some other lawyers in the area, but she is WELL worth it!
