Joel Thomas Finnell

Joel Finnell is an appellate attorney at Sinas Dramis Law Firm. In this role, his work is very unique and sets Sinas Dramis apart from other firms. While many other firms do not have a dedicated in-house attorney who specializes in appellate matters, Joel possesses the knowledge, research skills, expertise, and passion required to build a case capable of withstanding an appeal all the way up to the Michigan Supreme Court. 

After joining the firm in 2011, he quickly excelled at appellate law. In fact, the very first appeal he handled post-law school earned a favorable published appellate decision. He continues to focus his work on representing clients in the Michigan Court of Appeals and Supreme Court. In this role, he works very closely with the senior-most attorneys at Sinas Dramis Law Firm developing top-level appellate strategies. Many other attorneys also rely on Joel for additional legal support in complex and heavily defended cases. 

Joel's dedication to and success at appellate work helps Sinas Dramis Law Firm stay ahead of the game, particularly in the areas of auto no-fault law, motor vehicle accidents involving automobiles, semi-trucks, motorcycles, and bicycles, as well as catastrophic injuries and wrongful death matters. 

Joel graduated cum laude from Western Michigan University's Thomas M. Cooley Law School after earning his undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from Eastern Michigan University. He is admitted to practice in the state courts of Michigan, as well as numerous federal courts, including the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Illinois, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, as well as the Supreme Court of the United States.
