Beyond 5 stars

I could finally hand over almost three years of struggling on my own. Mr. Barberi, Tony, and Lori gave me the comfort to just exhale. Thank you will never be enough for everything the entire staff did for me in my time of need. The professionalism, cups of coffee, hugs, kindness and solid legal adv...ice gave me a part of my life back. The ability to move forward from where I felt like my life had stopped. I am forever grateful. The peace of mind was far more important to me than the settlement. However, the settlement far exceeded my expectations. My car accident had changed my life. I was suffering and Joe, Tony and Lori clearly identified this as a team and gave me back a portion of my life I thought was gone forever.

Seeking an outstanding attorney, look no further...

Over the course of the past 19 years I have utilized Attorney Barberi, or any number (five total) of his firm’s attorney associates. Attorney Barberi has assisted myself and my family in the areas of personal injury law, restraining orders, child support issues and estate matters. Attorney Joseph Bar...beri always surrounds himself with the brightest and best individuals in the legal profession, Joe retains equally brilliant partners. Furthermore, since his firm operates under a team approach to legal matters, everyone from the receptionist to the paralegals, to other firm attorneys... will be apprised as to the status of your case when continuing contact is made with Barberi Law. There are many benefits to this, evolving legal matters can be very stressful, therefore, a traumatic reiteration of the case is avoided. Additionally, an individual I know who had become a young orphan was experiencing the possible loss of adult independence due to the fact that at a certain age, said individual would become heir to a trust fund. The potential for disaster to the person in this case was so egregious, Barberi's firm represented this individual pro bono, thereby preserving the autonomy of a kindhearted and bright young adult. This is an outstanding law firm headed up by Attorney Joseph T. Barberi. Joe will work hard to get you the right result with a minimum of legal cost to you. Attorney Barberi specializes in mediation and non-confrontational approaches to securing the best possible legal result for you. After 19 years of personal experience with Joseph T. Barberi, I unequivocally recommend him to you.

Auto collision personal injury

I was involved in a traumatic auto collision on a freeway involving a drunk driver. Considering my unstable condition at the time, and my wife was taking care of our children, we were in no position to pursue a pain & suffering claim against the at-fault driver's insurance. After talking with 5 or 6 ...other lawyers, Joe's office was the only one I felt comfortable with. I first spoke with Lori, a paralegal at Joe's office. It was as if she was sitting there, waiting for me to call. She was so compassionate, and listened to everything I had to say about my unfortunate physical & mental condition. I felt as if she would have listened to me talk all day if she needed to. It was exactly the type of understanding my family needed to get through our life changing event. After returning home from the hospital & rehab facility (still in a hospital bed), one of Joe's staff visited me to fully understand all my injuries. He then described the process going forward to pursue a pain & suffering claim. All before my wife and I signed any type of paperwork or commitment. Considering phone calls, travel, and in-person visit, Joe's office spent hours understanding my case before they were even hired. Even more convincing, Joe wrote the book, "The Michigan Motor Vechicle Accident Book". At that point, there was no question in my mind my wife and I wanted to work with Joe. A pain & suffering claim can be a long process. Joe, and his office, took the time to meet with me, and take phone calls, throughout the entire process. Everything was explained to me in detail and any questions I had were usually answered the same day or via an on-the-spot phone call. After everything was said and done, I know I made the right decision. He feels like a long-time friend that wants the best for you. His motivation, in itself, is motivating. If you're looking for a lawyer that will be honest, compassionate, and over-the-top helpful, then I highly recommend giving Joe's office a call.

Somewhat pleased and somewhat not

This is a hard review to do because I am very pleased with how our case turned out and how quickly it was handled. However I am not pleased with a few things. While I think Mr. Barberi is a very nice man and clearly a very good attorney, I felt like we didn't matter to him. He said he takes every cas...e personally but he didn't make us feel like he was doing that. He literally only spent 30 minutes maybe with us in our first meeting and had to leave on an emergency and then the only other time we had a meeting he greeted us in the lobby for all of 10 seconds and again had an emergency "in the middle of a crisis" and had to leave. As did Tony, the attorney that actually handled the case, he met with us for maybe 10 minutes and had to race out. All of our questions always had to be answered by the Paralegal, Lori. Clearly Lori is very competent and knows the answers and does every bit of what the attorney does however for me I want the attorney meeting with me, answering my questions etc. I want the man in charge telling me what is going on and what needs to happen things like that. I guess I just find that yes they are all professional but I just didn't feel like they were investing time into us as people but just investing the time into their big pay check when it was all over. Back to Lori, my first interaction with her by phone was great! I felt great about her and the law firm, that feeling quickly went away after our first meeting. Every time we would ask a question that was directed at Mr. Barberi, he would start to answer and she would interrupt and answer for him, she rarely let him get a word in except for his sales pitch, she allowed him to sell himself. She did this exact same thing again in our meeting with Tony. I found her to be very rude and condescending, VERY condescending. She doesn't let people talk or finish their statements or questions. Every time I would ask something because I didn't know or was confused she would interrupt without even knowing my whole question and would act like I was attacking her. I just don't care for her and think she needs to learn when to be quiet and not be so superior. I also think the money they took in this case was ridiculous, not only did they get the 30 whatever% they added in additional fees for stuff like paper, copies, phone calls etc. This case never seen the inside of a courtroom, it was less then 1 year and had no bargaining or back and forth negotiations it was a very cut and dry case, I can't wrap my head around why they think over $30,000 isn't already enough for all of that but they have to charge an additional $1000-1500 for copies and phone calls? Are you kidding me? I just wish I would have known what I know now because I would not have gone this route, and I would not have hired this firm. That doesn't mean I wouldn't hire them for other things but for this particular case I would not have because honest to god the settlement amount was already terrible considering what happened but for them to take almost 50% when it was all said and done is just sickening to me especially when they did not have to do a whole heck of a lot to get this settlement, it was honestly open and shut. I am not saying don't hire them I am just saying really look around at others and really look into whether you really need an attorney or not and if you do hire them and don't have to deal with Lori that would be best. The question "Would you recommend this lawyer?" needs to have a maybe option, I would recommend for certain things but not for others

"The slogan Mr. Barberi uses for his firm "every case we take, we take personally" is absolutely spot on. I don't believe I've seen a lawyer who takes cases more personally. But more than that, Mr. Barberi is knowledgeable in every area of law he practices (and then some), and remains up to date on caselaw, statutes, and trends in the law in order to best prepare and represent his clients."
