OUTCOME: Guilty

As Deputy Rockingham County Attorney, I prosecuted Tasker, who was a NH State Representative, for soliciting a minor online. When he went to meet the minor, the police arrested him. During a search ... of his home, they located various types of drugs. He ultimately pled guilty to the Solicitation charge along with multiple drug offenses. He was given 3-10 years in plus an additional 7 1/2 - 15 suspended for ten years upon his release. He will also be required to register as a Sexual Offender for life.

OUTCOME: Guilty

Gill was arrested after a Rockingham County Sheriff’s Drug Task Force investigation which revealed he was delivering heroin from Massachusetts to two local dealers. As Deputy Rockingham County Attorney ... , I worked closely with the Drug Task Force on this case. Gill had a significant criminal history dating back to the early 1970’s. He pled guilty and was ultimately sentenced on two sales of Heroin and one Possession of Heroin. as part of a 'capped' plea deal, He received a total of 10-20 years stand committed, plus additional 10-20 suspended for ten years upon release, which was the sentence I argued for.

Orta-Santana pled guilty to ten counts of First Degree Assault on an infant, with injuries including a skull fracture, multiple broken ribs, broken arms, legs and toes. At a capped sentencing hearing ... on July 20, 2016, I asked for 10-25 years, plus another 4 – 25 years, both stand committed. Both the State and defense agreed on an additional 10-20 year sentence which will be suspended for 10 years upon his release. After the hearing, the Judge sentenced Orta-Santana to 10-25 years.

State of NH vs. Garrett Gauthier

OUTCOME: Guilty

As Hillsborough County Attorney, I prosecuted Gauthier for the Attempted Murder of a Manchester Police Officer. Gauthier was a passenger in a motor vehicle stop in the area of Somerville and Wilson S ... treets in Manchester. Gauthier ultimately fled from officers on foot. Despite repeated commands to stop, Gauthier continued to run. At one point, Gauthier stopped and turned around, when confronted by Officer Aaron Brown. Gauthier raised his gun, and pointed it directly at Officer Brown and fired one round while only 7-10 yards from the officer. Gauthier missed the officer, and Officer Brown returned fire. The defendant continued to run through the surrounding neighborhoods and discarded 3 loaded firearms. He was ultimately apprehended at 497 Silver Street where he was arrested. A search after Gauthier’s arrest revealed he had $1,730.00 in cash on his person along with 256 Oxycodone pills and buprenorphine. Gauthier pled guilty to the Attempted Murder charge, along with several drug charges. The sentence of 20 – 80 years in the New Hampshire State Prison was the sentence I argued for as part of a ‘capped’ plea deal.

On July 13, 2012, the Nashua Police Department executed a search warrant on BIGS Café and its bank accounts. A review of the Corporation’s bank accounts revealed transactions upwards of tens of thousa ... nds of dollars on a regular basis. The BIGS Corporation pled guilty to a Felony gambling charge. DiCesare and LeSaffre each pled guilty to misdemeanor Gambling. As County Attorney, I negotiated a sentence wherein the Corporation was fined $50,000, with $30,000 suspended for five years, a donation of $10,000 to Homes for our Troops and forfeiture of all items and money seized from the business, which resulted in $25,000 coming in to Hillsborough County. The Corporation was ordered to cease and desist in the State of New Hampshire.

As First Assistant Hillsborough County Attorney, I convicted Ronald Bourdon after trial of Attempted Murder, First Degree Assault, Criminal Restraint and Criminal Threatening for stabbing two teenage b ... rothers. The teenagers had come to Bourdon’s home to do household chores to earn extra money. Bourdon attacked the boys after accusing them of stealing a laptop computer. The younger brother was able to drag his older brother out of the home before Bourdon could stab him further. Bourdon was given a combined sentence of 22 ½ - 50 years in New Hampshire State Prison.

As Firs ... t Assistant Hillsborough County Attorney, I convicted Perry again, this time for Burglary and Theft – committed just weeks after his appeal was heard in Washington DC. For those crimes, Perry received 7 1/2 - 15 years in prison.

I convicted Mowery of the statutory rape of a 15 year-old acquaintance of her daughter. Mowery, who testified in her own defense, tried to claim the victim had actually assaulted her and had threatene ... d her daughter. At sentencing, the judge, stating males have ‘raging hormones’, gave Mowery a sentence lighter than those of male sexual offenders. I successfully argued to the Sentence Review Board that the sentence be increased.

I first prosecuted and convicted Collanzo for raping an acquaintance. While awaiting the first trial, Collanzo kidnapped a high school student, drove her to a remote location, and raped her. In prosec ... uting Collanzo for this second rape in a two week long trial, I was responsible for presenting all the forensic expert witnesses and evidence to the jury. This evidence included fingerprint and drug analysis from Collanzo’s car and home. It also included ‘tool mark’ evidence; which matched one half of a pen tube from the crime scene with another half found in Collanzo’s home. I also presented two types of DNA analysis: nuclear DNA from the rape kit, and the first use of mitochondrial DNA evidence in a jury trial in New Hampshire, matching the victim’s hair to a strand found in Collanzo’s vehicle. This particular type of DNA evidence was only allowed in after I prevailed in a two-day Daubert hearing. Collanzo was ultimately convicted of all charges. For both convictions, he received 170 – 340 years total.
