Ms. Wood was my attorney for a very "nasty" divorce and custody trial which lasted almost 3 yrs. and then had "aftermath" to deal with for a couple of years. It actually, unfortunately, became a very well known case in Bay City. Her never ending pleasant personality, extreme knowledge and high et...hical character were her strengths and ended up becoming what kept me going. She was always up front with me about possible outcomes and kept me well informed. I have already sent many people to her and will continue to do so. I wish it was possible to award more than five stars. My divorce was lengthy and contentious. I warned Jessie at the initial consultation that were I to proceed with the divorce, it may likely be one of her uglier cases. Circumstances were messy and far from "typical"; to the contrary, my fear a...t being able to navigate the divorce (and custody proceedings) safely and successfully had prevented me from taking legal action for a long time. When I met Jessie for the first time, at the initial consultation (which lasted nearly two hours), I knew I had found the attorney who would truly be my (and my child's) advocate. I connected with her immediately. She was obviously intelligent, savvy, driven. But, something else: she genuinely cared. I trusted her implicitly. We ended up spending a great deal of time together during the pendency of the divorce, both over the phone and in person. Nothing phased her - and she had to field more than a few crazy curve balls. She was fierce in the courtroom; tenacious, and obviously well-respected. She always valued my input and insight, but she also never hesitated to tell me when she thought my line of thinking was incorrect. And, she was always right. She was there as a source of support when I had to shoulder some tough blows. I have tremendous respect for her. The end result was one of the best I could have hoped for; it was hard fought, but I know that had I selected a different attorney/advocate, it could very well have been a different tale. You want her on your side. Hire her.
