Hired Robert Leithauser to handle my DUI. He insisted I pay flat fee in cash up front but he never went to my court date! His excuse kept changing (first said he didn't remember me, then said he was in hospital, then said he never got notice, which is impossible because I gave him the date!). The...n he wanted 3 grand in cash to keep representing me. I told him no way and demanded a refund. He said he doesnt have any money what a joke! What about the $1000 "flat fee" I paid you! I had to hire a different lawyer to handle my case and might need to sue this one to get my money back. Beware this man!

I needed to consult with a lawyer about my options because of a family issue. I talked with Bob for maybe 15 minutes to discuss my options. He was hard of hearing and maybe a bit too elderly to still be in practice, but I thought age means experience and wisdom. BIG MISTAKE on my part. I gave him mo...ney to bill against for when he started working on my case, but he did not give me any fee agreement (red flag, I understand now that legit attorneys will give you a fee agreement). Well, my situation changed and I decided I did not want to file a suit. I asked for my money back because Bob didn't have to do anything: no drafting anything, no filing, no court appearance. He flat out refused and pretended he didn't know what I was talking about at first. Then he got angry and yelled. He still refuses and now I am down a LOT of money because he will not give it back.
