I engaged Jessica with most of the work in the case already done. She found important ways to ensure it was successful but also ate up my retainer doing things like pointing out the need to make case law citations that I'd already made and raising arguments that were (seemingly) palpably unsound. W...hen she asked for an increase in retainer I said "no" to which she threatened a lean -- it seems she forgot she had said there was $800 of retainer that was unused in one of her almost immediately preceding emails. In response to her threat to install a lean, I said I would take to google maps - to which she said I was being mean. It's my perception that I am being strung along from one retainer payment to another with an argument that probably could have been brought to summary disposition within the first retainer payment. I feel the billing practices at this firm are predatory.
