Client called my office regarding a probate matter. We spoke briefly. Two days later, I got a call from her bank. I told the bank that an attorney client relationship has not been formed, and that I would wait for her to come in. She came back. We agreed on a consultation fee of $200, and she paid. After lengthy discussions, we agreed on a flat fee, and I drafted an agreement. She advised she would like to review it. I did not hear from her again for more than a week, as she decided to handle the matter herself. She got "stuck" in the process, and decided to seek legal advice from me. I asked her to come in and sign the agreement, so I could help he, but she insisted I talked to her, saying that she paid me $200. I reminded her it was a consultation fee, and all she has to do was to sign the agreement, and pay the fees so I could do the work. She said she has paid me, and that I do not want to do the work. I told her that I am busy now, and cannot engage in lengthy conversation. She uttered some unprintable words, and hung up. I could not have been rude to her.
