yes you can sue anyone for anything in a US Court.. the question is can you win! I know of no reason why you would prevail if you sued.

Its legal if you are in a public place to record anyone almost anytime. you have no expectation of privacy in a public place.

Why do you care who owns Jams? Its likely if you sued them you would be throwing good money after bad. Suck it up and complete your probation.

My suggest is to find another roommate acceptable to you and then agree to substitute.
