I believe that Kathleen had my best interest at heart, but she fell short; way short. She charged me over $20,000 and over a year and a half later, FOC (Friend of the Court) still doesn't have my completed paperwork. I still don't have my child support payments through them and when my ex decides to send the child support payments, he's late and we still don't have an accurate amount because he and his lawyer came up with an amount "that should be close" to what he'd owe me. I've reached out to her multiple times (8 times) and each time she said she'd help finish the paperwork, yet has still not completed anything.
I was charged multiple times for the same issues (repeated emails because she either didn't clarify the first time, or didn't respond, hence repeated emails that were double-charged).
She never let me know when my retainer ($3000) was up, and continued to add onto my bill; with no communication with me. I didn't get a statement until my case was settled and that was over $20,000. She consulted and suggested for me to charge (on my credit cards) my childrens' sports and other costs relating to my kids saying that in the end my ex would have to pay 1/2 of those costs. I ended up with all those charges, him not having to pay anything. Her comment to me was "Well, you got what you wanted" (meaning the house and more time with my children). Yes, I did, but I had to pay him for it (the house) and I fought my case with the FOC investigator with facts (that she did not present while there).
Kathleen was late for most appointments and almost always for court. One time she didn't even know we had a court date as I sat by myself unrepresented.
I had never gone through a divorce and expected the attorney that I hired to guide me through the process. Instead, I felt isolated, lost, stressed, trying to gather as much as I could on my own, and then broke after paying my ex and my lawyer. I would HIGHLY suggest not hiring Kathleen Dilger as your divorce attorney.
