great to me

i called steven for a free consultation. i had given him info. stating my case is in st. clair county (which he doesn't cover). also, that it was a MI estate connected to a NC estate. A high percent of lawyers speedily got me off the phone when they heard NC. they just said we don't do NC law. he... did not do that to me. the other lawyers didn't let me tell my story. he let me tell my full story. i knew things were done wrong in MI. thus, i do need a MI lawyer. also, he let me have a free IN PERSON consultation. it's very rare to get a free in person consultation. which, of course, is the VERY best method. prior to my consultation my voice mail (unknowingly) wasn't working correctly. he had called me back two days in a row. on the 3rd day i was home. he never mentioned the voice mails (many law firms would of been irritated). he wasn't condescending, pretentious, etc. He was easy going, etc. He has many great traits. I had contacted MANY attorneys. I was SHOCKED that steven had those great traits (traits i already mentioned. plus a lot more great traits). a super high percent of lawyers are not nice, etc. He figured out the issue in less than 10 minutes. unlike all the other attorneys. the issue was easy to understand. He didn't rush me in the meeting. he let me stay a long time. i stayed until he covered all my questions. etc. He was patient with me. he let me ask a lot of questions. he explained things well and in layman's terms. he told me something i could do a bought the matter. NO OTHER attorney gave me his option. please recall i contacted MANY attorneys. he gave me the option because he wanted to help me. unlike the other attorneys. he told me i could do stuff on my own. he gave me the exact wording of the forms. told me i could do it online (not contact the court). he could of referred me to a buddy. a buddy that would rip me off. many attorneys do the buddy referral attorney that rips off people. i already had that happen to me. i've lost $1,500.00 because of my bad attorney. my bad attorney could NOT do what i needed. it was legally not an option (my bad atty knew it wasn't an option). probate matter - my sister hired a probate attorney (that i'm forced to pay half the bill - so i LOSE more money). 2 hired attorneys made the same "mistake" (me saying mistake - not steven). steven didn't make excuses for those attorneys mistakes. i hate attorneys making excuses for other attorneys mistakes. i'm currently seeking help because of my rip off/bad attorney. ANYWAY, steven was great to me. i would of hired him. Problem is he is not located in the probate matter county. i thanked steven a lot in person. he acknowledged my thanks in a cheerful manner. he laughed and told me to quit thanking him.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
