Jarod M. Calkins is an experienced and dedicated trial lawyer. He focuses his practice on helping the community. Mr. Calkins, through hard work and dedication has earned respect among his clients, the local Judiciary, his peers and the community as a valuable legal resource.

As lead counsel of Calkins Law Offices, a Monroe, Michigan based firm, he provides advice, counsel, and legal representation to businesses and individuals in several areas of law. These areas include Divorce, Child Custody, Child Support, Paternity, Business Litigation, Criminal Law, Contractual Litigation, Personal Injury, Estate Planning, and Probate.

Jarod M. Calkins was born and raised in Monroe, Michigan. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1995, obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in 1999 from the University of Toledo, and his law degree in 2002 from the University of Toledo College of Law. Mr. Calkins then obtained his Michigan State Bar License and began his legal career in his hometown in 2002. Prior to private practice he worked a legal intern in the Monroe County Prosecutors Office. He has always maintained his own office.

Mr. Calkins, in his spare time, has devoted hundreds of hours to his community. He currently serves as a member of the City of Monroe Recreation Advisory Commission, as well as the Monroe County Compensation Commission. Mr. Calkins has also coached the Monroe Junior Boilermakers for the Monroe First Downers Junior Football League since 2003.

Jarod Calkins has substantial experience in all areas of trial litigation, including numerous jury trials and bench trials.
