Amir I. Makled

I was the victim in a case where Amir Makled represented my assailant, and my experience was troubling. At the preliminary exam he portrayed me as an angry Black man who wanted to fight, ignoring that I had been called “abeed” (“slave”) and arguing two men can agree to fight. Later, in front of a Bla...ck judge, he changed his tone, calling the slur “disgusting” while questioning whether it happened. He also restricted me to reading only parts of a protective order and then withheld the document from evidence. These actions felt dishonest and manipulative. Ultimately, his client was convicted. I cannot recommend him.

We were desperate at the time and we’re going through a very rough experience with a previous employer. Amir was very arrogant, wouldn’t listen or look at our paperwork and was upset because his office accepted a referral of which he thought was a case below his expertise. He wasn’t helpful and we ...left his office in frustration and loss of hope. We also, were waiting for a long time before we met him while his secretary was going back and forth communicating between us, he didn’t want to meet us at all.

Amir is an attorney with expertise in criminal defense and he always comes prepared for his client. He is a very confident lawyer.
