I assist in the formation of nonprofit and tax exempt organizations, helping them obtain tax exempt status, dealing with state regulators, governance issues, filing requirements, unrelated business income, and many other issues. I have represented organizations in audits before the IRS, and in civil litigation. I have advised organizations in many aspects of federal and state law.

I assist both established companies, and ones that are brand new. I help clients decide on the proper form the business should take, after weighing the various considerations that go into that decision - tax, financial, contractual, and liability, among others. I assist my clients with established businesses in negotiating, preparing, and reviewing contracts, dealing with disputes, protecting intellectual property, the lease and purchase of property, and many other issues.

I have earned a Certificate in Estate Planning by completing a series of courses in the Institute of Continuing Legal Education of the State Bar of Michigan. I enjoy helping clients craft an estate plan that meets their particular needs. I also help clients with the process of probating an estate, and dealing with related issues.
