I told Jennifer that it's likely my ex-wife would make it so that we had to go to trial in order for me to get 50-50 parenting time. I naively agreed to hire her thinking that all the horrible things my ex-wife had done would make a difference in court with her as my attorney. Jennifer said she could... go to trial if needed and then we filed the weakest motion for divorce you could imagine, even after I provided to her written, recorded and photographic evidence of the horrible things my ex was doing to my son and I. And then of course my ex-wife and her attorney filed for an ex-parte motion for a protection order based on completely fabricated information and personal journal entries that my ex stole from my computer and lied about in her motion to portray me as unstable. I had to beg Jennifer to try to stop it. She did little and was ineffective in stopping it. The fraudulent ex-parte protection order was signed and delivered to my work by a badged warrant officer and a school police officer (I work at a state University). I had to leave my house and my young son. I had to beg Jennifer to call them out on the fraud in our response. I was in a horrible position and had to cow-tow to my ex-wife in order to ultimately get 40% time with my son. Fortunately in the hearing, the Judge paid attention to the claims and facts that I literally wrote into my own response for her. The protection order was removed, but I was in a horrible position having to fight to get back into my son's life. Also, in the end, no agreement on Christmas was made, leading to continuous annual conflict with my belligerent ex. No mention of child tax credit, so my ex gets those every year, and I pay child support along with 55% of any child expenses. Oh, and I can't make any foreign accent in front of my child. That's my crazy ex for you. Jennifer let it all happen and 5 years later I'm still trying to pay off the debt from the legal fees. What I'm ultimately concerned about is that Jennifer refused to go to trial, like she said she would in the beginning. In my opinion, she just wanted to settle and get out.
