This review is from a person who hired this attorney.

Terrible, liar, committed to the prosecuting side

Mr. Portuesi was a court appointed attorney who flat out lied to me and my federal attorney about fighting my state charges. He was lackadaisical in arguing my bail reduction and instead agreed with the judge that he should not lower it. He lied about my sentence length telling me I was sentenced to ...a concurrent sentence and instead I was sentenced consecutively. I am appalled at his poor performance as I ended up spending 12 months longer in the MDOC. He at first acted as if he planned to fight my charges but then agreed with the prosecution. My advice hire a good attorney, not one who is on the other side.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
