Many loose ends

I had my divorce done by Chris Aiello about one year ago. He seemed very aggressive which is somewhat what I wanted. I didn't want someone who would let another walk all over him. I blindly retained him without doing enough research & put my complete trust in him. He obviously knew that I was scare...d and knew nothing about how to proceed. Even though I filed first, my ex husband's lawyer ended up filing & drafting most of the documents. They were constantly waiting on him & he seemed to drag it out much longer than needed, knowing that I had been a stay-at-home mom & my ex was laid off. I felt that he was overly aggressive on issues that he was unable to enforce or back up. After the divorce was final, he wanted nothing more to do with me, stating that if I had further questions, that I could retain him again. Due to several issues that weren't very clear in our papers, I've had to seek out another lawyer to fix these, costing me another couple thousand at the very least that should have been resolved within the first JOD. His recommendations have been a disaster, contributing to the fact that I have to now retain a second lawyer. Four out of the five lawyers that I spoke with last week literally groaned when I told them who my lawyer had been. Now I'm left to pick up the pieces & go through this all over again!! I wish someone had warned me! I let hime take advantage of my fear, uncertainty & trust. And that he did! I have no problem with the money that lawyers make. But I know that there are some who truly have their client's best interest at heart and want to do what's right. I feel that Mr. Aiello's first & only priority is what he's going to make & how he's going to benefit. What a shame. Do your research & interview other lawyers...there are many really great ones out there!
