Paul Matthew Karmo

Paul Karmo is an experienced trial attorney and advocate that is able to help his clients navigate the legal process with simplicity and ease, obtaining advantageous results under even the most hostile circumstances. Paul is determined to fight when it is necessary, but also has a practical approach to delivering favorable results for his clients. 

Paul Karmo graduated with his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School and is licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan. He began his career as Wayne County assistant prosecuting attorney where he primarily prosecuted white-collar real estate and property crimes. He also successfully prosecuted a large number of felony cases with charges involving drugs, firearms, alcohol, home invasion, breaking and entering; to more serious crimes such as Conspiracy, Arson, and Conducting a Criminal Enterprise. 

Paul also has extensive knowledge and expertise in the area of business planning, approval, and development. He has sought and obtained approvals for developments in Canton, Northville, Ann Arbor, Plymouth and Bloomfield which involved obtaining special building permits, wetland mitigation issues, PUDs, and many more.  He has the experience and knowledge of properly navigating a Zoning Board, Planning Commission, Township Board of Trustees, and the MDEQ in order to get all environmental and engineering issues satisfactorily resolved so that a project is approved and shovel-ready. 

Aside from his legal work, Paul was elected to the West Bloomfield Township Parks Commission, and later was appointed by the Township Supervisor to the Environmental Commission, which reviews applications for variances to the township's wetland and woodland protections. He is an active member in the community, a member of the Shenandoah Country Club and Member of the Wayne County Criminal Defense Bar Association.
