Christopher James Ryan

Mr. Ryan is a member of the firm’s Business Practice Group and the Litigation Group. As a member of the Business Practice Group, Mr. Ryan works with healthcare providers in all areas of health law including corporate formation and dissolution, contract formation, and issues involving health compliance. As part of the litigation group, Mr. Ryan practices general litigation, with a special emphasis on defending healthcare providers faced with claims of medical malpractice. In this regard, Mr. Ryan’s experience spans from the pre-suit period through representing healthcare providers at trial. Before joining Giarmarco, Mullins & Horton, P.C., Mr. Ryan was an associate at Aardema Whitelaw, PLLC in Grand Rapids.

Mr. Ryan graduated cum laude from the Haworth College of Business at Western Michigan University.  He attended law school at the Michigan State University College of Law where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Medicine and Law and was given the Jurisprudence Award in Health Law.  He received his Juris Doctor cum laude with a concentration in Health Law.

Mr. Ryan is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Medical Legal Subcommittee of the Health Care Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Health Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association. Mr. Ryan is also actively involved with the Oakland County Bar Association and serves as a member of the New Lawyers Committee.
