I am a disabled veteran injured while on deployment. DOD/VA compensated me some due to my injury but since my rare condition was a “non-qualifying” condition, I was rated at 10% disabled. My daughter was born with a learning disability. The process of special education and additional support was difficult to address, but we managed as our daughter made her way through the system.
