Richard M. Delonis

Rick Delonis helps business owners, construction professionals, and condominium/HOA boards solve high-stakes legal problems with clear strategy and practical judgment. Based in Southfield, Rick advises clients across Metro Detroit and throughout Michigan, including Oakland, Wayne, Macomb, and Washtenaw Counties.

Rick’s practice focuses on the issues that most often put businesses and projects at risk: commercial contract disputes, construction defect and delay claims, Michigan construction lien matters, shareholder/member and ownership disputes, real estate title claims, and related litigation and transactional work. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts, appeals, and arbitration, and has handled multiple matters involving claims exceeding $50 million.

As an entrepreneur, he has helped start up companies in the health and fitness industry, and has served as the companies' general counsel and assistant director of operations. 

Mr. Delonis has a robust real estate law practice, with 20+ years of experience in representing condominium associations and homeowner associations (HOAs).  He also assists buyers and sellers of commercial properties and residential homes. 

Mr. Delonis is a member of the Business Law, Litigation, and Real Estate Law sections of the State Bar of Michigan. He is a member of the Commercial Litigation Committee and Nonprofit Corporations Committee of the Business Law section, and previously served as a member of the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee of the State Bar.
