Andrew Grabowski

I joined Shea in January 2008, just a few months after graduating from law school, and I've spent essentially my whole career here. It's been a very personal journey. I get to pursue work I'm passionate about at a place that feels like an extended family, and that atmosphere still shapes how I work with clients and colleagues today.
My path to estate planning started in law school, when I served in the University of Detroit Mercy's Urban Law Clinic providing legal services to indigent and unhoused residents. That was my first real opportunity to work with older clients, and it became the foundation for my practice.
Since then, I've worked one-on-one with hundreds of clients to put wills, trusts, and powers of attorney in place. Estate planning can be hard to talk about, let alone address. Helping people work through those big decisions and come away with peace of mind is the part of this job I value most. I also regularly host complimentary estate planning seminars across Metro Detroit, with a focus on businesses and charitable organizations.
I didn't really understand the word "legacy" before I started doing this work. Now I see how much a well-planned legacy can mean, not just for the next generation but for generations after. Understanding each client's goals for the future is the first step in deciding what that legacy looks like.
Today I'm a partner at Shea Law PLLC, handling estate planning, probate, and trust administration from our Southfield office in Oakland County and our Clinton Township and Romeo offices in Macomb County. I'm a graduate of Michigan State University (B.S., 2003) and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (J.D., 2007), and I was selected to the Michigan Super Lawyers list for 2023–2026.
Away from the office, my favorite time is spent with my wife, Katie, and our two young children.
