Abby represented me (birth mother) in my uncontested adoption case. The parents I chose for the adoption chose her and paid for my representation. Initially, Abby seemed nice just a little bit flighty. But as time went on, laissez-faire attitude became an issue. We met before court and I was concer...ned when she could not answer the most basic of questions (ex: What is the next step in the process? How long does the court usually take to finalize ? ). It happened so much that I was embarrassed, but compelled to ask if this was her first adoption case. She said it wasn’t but it sure felt like it. After court there’s a long waiting period before a decision is made. I had an issue arise with my BD that threatened the adoption’s completion. I called Abbie multiple times a week for a month she finally responded via text and just said “I’m on vacation.”. I waited for her to call me back for over a month and a half and the whole time I was riddled with stress and anxiety and losing sleep worrying for my daughter‘s safety. I just think it was a little callous to unplug and take an extended vacation while you have active cases going on. I would not recommend Abbie at all to anyone and I think that she should choose a different practice area.
