Inconclusive representation

I have been working with Matthew for two years. Matthew's convictions are clear and he will be brutally honest with you. In Matthews LinkedIn profile he describes himself as "Aggressive and knowledgeable". I would agree with that. Not only in the court room but with the client as well. I was afraid ...to communicate with Matthew. I cried after every conversation. Matthew has zero bedside manner. Matthew will break you down to build you up. I do not agree with this tactic at all. However, anxiety driven Matthews representation was I had confidence in him. He always showed up for me and represented me well. Until now. Recently Matthew has resigned from his firm. For reasons unbeknownst. While I am being represented well by his associates, I do feel abandoned in my darkest hour. I invested in Matthew not just financially. I am saddened to report that he has not reached out to me or offered any guidance or support moving forward. I suspect that Matthew is distracted and may have never been the best person for the job. Please look for representation that sincerely cares and won't abandon you one week before mediation. Matthew has raised his rates multiple times over the last two years just to quit on me when the going gets tough. His reasonings likely have nothing to do with my case but a testament to his character. He should retire and move on with his life despite his skills and abilities.

Does Not Follow Through

Matthew Caplan represented me. The divorce settlement was good, but there were flaws in putting the extended PPO in the LEIN system when he represented me after 2 years. I emailed him and his assistants multiple times and he did not respond. This forced me to hire a process server to serve the res...pondent at my cost. I spent over $80,000 for my divorce payable to DAWN and the LEAST he could do was rectify the PPO situation when he was my acting attorney. My life and well-being were in jeopardy and he chose to ignore my pleas. If you are looking to spend a lot of money on a divorce and someone to NOT follow through, this is your man.

Bringing integrity, justice and honor BACK into the court room and your life

Attorney Caplan is like if you had an amazingly supportive and caring older brother, who just so happened to also be a world class attorney. His wisdom of a very complex, confusing, complicated and cut throat legal system is bar none (no pun intended however noted and throughly enjoyed). After years ...of legal abuse at the hands of greedy attorneys and an abusive "co-parent," when I was just on the edge of losing all hope, Attny Caplan took on my case, expediently reviewed a mountain (Everest) of information, and in the MIDDLE of a hearing, executed a monumental turn around with grace, fact, a high level of skill and emotional intelligence. The peace and joy that I am able to regain as a Mother, even before a resolution has been established and litigation continues, just from simply knowing that he is in my son and I's corner, is an experience and a feeling that I could not put a price on. That being said, his fees are extremely reasonable and fair- there is no doubt he is not in this profession to prey on victims of challenging circumstances, conflict or abuse. Which, unfortunately, I have seen firsthand with at least 5 other attorneys and professionals in the area of family law. He does not sugar coat or manipulate his clients emotional states to facilitate and incite further chaos and line his pockets, rather he is a man of integrity and honor; which quite frankly, brings "honor and justice," back into the arena of family law, where I was previously convinced was devoid of such promises. In dealing with the opposing parties extremely high conflict attorney, who strategically manipulated the legal system and even her own client while heartlessly seeking her own financial gain at the expense of a mother-child bond and their wellbeing, Attorney Caplan was the first amongst many so called "award winning top attorneys" who maintained a high level of professionalism, courtesy and composure both in and out of the court room. Whoever raised this man should be given sainthood. Whoever is married to him, has him has a father, brother, friend, associate or attorney, is truly blessed. The world would be a much more peaceful place with more attorneys who practice law and humanity as Mr. Caplan does.

Aggressive Representation

Attorney Matthew Caplan and his team at DAWN provided excellent and quality service. I always felt Matthew had a vested interest in my case. All questions and concerns were addressed in a timely manner. No frivolous charges (unnecessary emails or phone calls) to drive up cost. Always accessible. Matt...hew is clearly very familiar with dealing with manipulative, unreasonable people. I appreciate his aggressive representation and would highly recommend him if you want the best possible outcome with your divorce.
