Timothy J. Hambidge began his legal career in 1982, after graduating from Purdue University (1979) and the Indiana University School of Law.

He began as an insurance defense lawyer, working for four years as in-house counsel to Mutual Security Life Insurance Company in Ft. Wayne. He spent another five years as an insurance defense trial lawyer.

Tim moved to Evansville 1986 and practiced with two insurance defense firms prior to 1991.

In 1991 Tim joined the law office of Olsen, Niederhaus, Labhart & White to handle personal injury law and general law. He became a partner in Olsen, White & Hambidge in 1994.

Tim joined Foster O'Daniel & Hambidge January of 2011, and now spends the bulk of his time on personal injury law, disputed custody cases, estate planning for both young couples and older clients, and representing the small businesses that he refers to as "microBusinesses."

Tim likes to say "I don't think I have a lot of small business clients. I prefer to think that I have a lot of friends who just happen to own small businesses, and they let me represent them when they need help."

Tim also handles the estates of deceased clients, and was an Assistant County Attorney for Warrick County from 1996 to 2000.

Tim volunteers about 10 percent of his billed time to pro bono endeavors.

Tim is a member of numerous professional organizations, including:

  • The Indiana State Bar Association
  • The Evansville Bar Association
  • The Warrick County Bar Association
  • The Indiana Bar Association, General Practice and Family Law sections

He has been admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, the Indiana Supreme Court, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Federal District Court for both the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.

On the homefront, Tim has been married since 1979 to his high school sweetheart, Kathy Hambidge. They have three children – Emily, Brian, and Daniel – all of whom Mr. Hambidge considers “pretty great.”

After his heart bypass surgery in April 2004, Tim became active in the Mended Hearts Chapter 107, Evansville, where he is a Hospital Visitor at St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Tim is a member of numerous civic organizations, including:

  • Volunteer for both the Evansville Bar Association’s Pro Bono Panel and the Evansville Bar Association’s “Ask A Lawyer” program
  • Former coach for both Newburgh Junior Baseball and Newburgh Girls Softball, and volunteer legal counsel for both leagues since 1990
  • Assisted Castle High School’s “We the People” government team for local, state and national competition for the past six years
  • Chairman of the Newburgh Summerfest Parade (1992, 1993, 1994, 2004-present)
  • Former member of the Newburgh Park Board, the Board of the Newburgh Youth Sports Association, and charter member and past president of the Historic Newburgh Kiwanis Club

Great Job
Tim is a great attorney. He knows what he is doing and has many years of experience. He took my case from start to finish and was able to save all of my retirement and get me a divorce. I would recommend Tim to anyone who might have a complicated case and needs experience on their side. Well done Tim!!

Helped me with my end of life decisions...
Tim explained, to my satisfaction, all of my options. Going to his office is like going to visit a friend.

Attorney and a friend
Tim has represented me for about 10 years in a divorce matter. He provided me with excellent advice, kept my head on straight and helped guide me through process which was quite lengthy. He knows his way around the courtroom and doesn't get bogged down in the legalese when explaining things. In addition, he always took an interest in how I was as well as my family. At the end of it all ...not only did I have an excellent attorney ...but a good friend. I would recommend Tim to anyone.

Responsive, client oriented and pragmatic
Tim immediately grasps the nature of your legal issue and without hesitation embarks on a plan of solution. You will feel assured and confident that Tim will not dance around an issue but will instead provide his evaluation and suggest a pragmatic approach which will avoid protracted legal fees.

A Rare Find - A Lawyer With Integrity
The title about covers it. Tim Hambidge took on a ridiculous civil case in which extreme allegations were made against me and several other equally innocent people, including an eight year old child. He stuck with it through years of maneuvering by the disbarred lawyer who was bringing the charges pro se. We eventually won, in large part to Tim's persistence.

Professional and Ethical
and I have on many occasions. Tim can handle most any legal need. Trusts and wills, Setting up your business entity, to personal injury. I can't forget child custody and divorces either. He is great at keeping the client calm and not letting drama of life in the courtroom take over.

Tim Hambidge not just your attorney, he's your friend!
As a small business owner and Mom of 3 kids, we use Tim for all our attorney needs. He is highly knowledgeable and confident but he also talks to you in plain English and not legaleeze language. From wills and estates to business planning, Tim will be with you every step of the way. I highly recommend Tim!!

Review for Tim Hambidge
Tim Hambidge is an exceptionally good lawyer. He knows what he's doing, takes the bull by the horns so to speak, and gets the job done in the right manner. He's reliable, helpful and knowledgable. I would recommend him to anyone. I actually have recommended him to a few people already. He's a tremendous lawyer and I don't have any regrets hiring him...as I have heard other people regret lawyers they hired but that was before they asked me who I have as my lawyer. I appreciate everything he has done to help me out because I know I must have been one of his pest clients.

Custody Case
Tim failed to review the Indiana Parenting Time Guidelines book when handling child custody case. Numerous times I was tasked with reviewing the information and providing him corrections during custody modification. When the child was moved without notification to the parent with joint custody , Tim advised nothing could be done. This was the third time such a move occurred with no documentation. Very lazy, difficult to contact, and long wait times for call returns. All of our bills were paid much ahead of schedule and upfront retainer. We even paid for a less than 10 minute phone call around the order of $75 if I recall correctly. Very disappointed.

I'm sorry I can't personally address the concerns of this anonymous review. I strive to be an accommodating and, most of all, pragmatic attorney. If this anonymous client would like to private message me I may be able to clear up any confusion and or bad feelings. I look forward to responding. tjh

Child custody
I hired Tim for 3 years for post divorce custody. I would recommend never hiring tim. He was unprepared in court, lost the documents I gave him. He would copy documents I previously saw on the internet then bill me $1000 and claim he wrote them. When I fired him and got my file from his office, they gave me part of my file a part of someone else’s. He send inappropriate emails with no body and three word in the subject line that doesn’t make sense.

Sometimes client's expectations are beyond my control. An old lawyer once said, less is more. I think I will leave my response at that
