Meredith is not a lawyer. She's a joke.

There is literally nothing positive I can say about Meredith. Her and her staff are incredibly lazy. They want you to do all the work. They will not even look over the information you provide. They will not review your case. Meredith will not take phone calls. She will take forever to call you back, ...if she does! Most of the time she won't. She will not respond to emails. Even during a scheduled appointment, she was late, and we had to end early and come back the following week. She is always out of the office. She likes easy wins. If you don't have a slam dunk case avoid her at all cost. She's not only a terrible lawyer but an even worse person. She's expensive and literally will not provide you anything. She will hustle you for every penny before you can even go to court just so she can charge you more and threaten to not represent you if you don't pay. She will tell you exactly what you want to hear. All the right things. Up until she gets the retainer. Once she's paid, it's game over. She will not work. She's afraid of the judges in Jackson County. She's afraid of other lawyers, especially Bill Dillon. Bill is an entire piece of crap but he's at least a good lawyer. I cannot say the same about Meredith. She will work with the other lawyer more than she will her own client. She will set you back years!!! Save yourself some money and a headache and go elsewhere!

Has been

Heard counsel was once great. Realize now that must be due to once was a big name in a small town. Lacks communication, lacks transparency, lacks professionalism, unwelcoming. Seems understaffed and seems to have a lot of staff turnover. Most staff members are rude, or maybe just unhappy in their job.... Attorney can be rude at times, mainly in the way in which talks to staff. Attorney herself will not answer questions or actually advise you. Most of us are not attorneys already so we hire one to advise us of what is best legally in our individual situation from the BEGINNING. That did not happen in this case. Staff gives you the run around if you ask questions. They say they will call you back and they never do. If you email don't expect a response either. Very little communication, if any, as to what is going on with your case. Will talk to you as if you have a strong case when you do see her for an appointment, even though you may not. But be prepared to only find that out once you are actually in court or mediation. Expect to do all of the "legwork" by yourself. You are in charge of giving them all of your exhibits, including copies unless you want to add to your bill and pay them to make copies. Don't expect them to let you know anything about the exhibits in which you've given them. They will give you affidavits so you can take to get the records you need for your case and they will give you subpoenas for people right there in the office for you to give to the person. Now maybe that is just if it is your witness for your case that would be speaking in support of you, but a little explanation of the process would probably be of help to those already going through the stresses and emotions of a legal matter. Expect your appointments to be interrupted by the attorney stepping out multiple times to deal with other matters that are not related to your case. An office staff member will step in to keep the meter running to ensure you are charged for the entire time you are just sitting there alone. I traveled out of county for an appointment to be prepped for my case. Attorney was late, walked in the office after I had already been there for a few minutes. All you could hear was her talking about how she hadn't had lunch yet. Staff must have let her know a client(me) was there for appointment. I heard her(attorney) say "Well she's just here for...". Made me feel as though my appointment was pointless. She had office staff go and get her lunch. She stepped in the meeting room long enough to sit and acknowledge I was there and why. She excused herself and then I sat in the meeting room, being charged, as I heard the attorney getting her lunch and proceeding to eat. A staff member came in and gave me paperwork to review and then said she thought I could go if the paperwork looked ok to me. I had questions so I spoke up. But, I had to actually ask to talk to my attorney at the appointment in which she sent me a letter telling to me to call and schedule for. If a delay in appointment was necessary a phone call or some other remedy at that time would have been nice. No client wants to feel as if their time was wasted or travel hours only to be charged for something that could have been done via email. There was no preparation for my case during this appointment and the paperwork reviewed had been sent to me and reviewed via email many times before so I'm not sure why it was not done that way this time. I really felt as though this was just an appointment to add money on to the bill. They never give or send you a bill until it is already in the thousands of dollars range. Then they want payment in full before moving on with the case. Have spent close to $20k or more just on the attorney and associated fees. Does not include my time invested for travel and days my partner took off of work to be there for me for court dates that were constantly pushed back with notification of cancellation being the day of. Would not recommend.

find someone else

Horrible experience, She encourage me to take a deal that was over two years ago that I am still stuck with for visitation and have to put out for another lawyer to try to rectify the situation.

Go with someone else!

Meredith was horrible lawyer. She did not review paper work with the client, she told the client to sit and read carefully. She dropped a protection order without asking the client. She gets with the other lawyer to talk about the case to make a "deal" to end the case. She told the client that she wo...uld lose her kids if she did not take the "deal." She is a control freak and would not let the client say anything or have any control. In court, she did not defend or redirect the case attention to other matters. She stood there with her mouth open and did not say a word. Just to name a few things. I had a friend her also and complained about the money situation, "That Meredith keeps sending her bills for more money, like a person with her hand out always wanting more She over charges. I didn't pay $20,000 to be screwed over!!! The best part the divorce is not even final!!
