Successful Affirmative Asylum Case for Minor Client

In November of 2015, everyone in the office was so excited to hear that our fight to obtain asylee status for one of our young Ecuadorian clients (I will call her “Mary”) was a success! Mary’s Asylum ... application was granted only after many months of strategy sessions to determine how best to present each fact of her case, countless hours of preparation, and representation in both immigration court and the Newark Asylum Office, where the final asylum interview was held. It was all worth it on the day that we received the decision granting Mary’s Asylum application because we were finally able to open a pathway to legal residency status for a young girl whose life, up to that point, had been incredibly difficult and heartbreaking. I am so honored to have met and gotten to know this courageous young woman. I look forward to helping Mary adjust her status to that of a legal permanent resident in a couple of years. We will never forget her.
