By working directly with our customers, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers and union partners, Bill helps ensure that all contracts and relationships meet appropriate legal guidelines and requirements and that all of the company’s dealings are marked by fairness and integrity. If questions or issues arise with our customers or others with whom we do business, Bill diligently pursues answers and mutually agreeable resolutions.
With regard to our union partnerships, Bill works closely with union representatives to foster and develop strong relationships focused on building highly skilled employees to bring the highest level of craftsmanship to our customers. Active on several construction and trade boards, Bill helps make sure that our company remains at the leading edge of the industry.
The company’s Corporate Safety Director reports to Bill, and he is proud of the corporate safety culture that tirelessly strives for Zero Today, for Life. Additionally, every year Bill offers several internal seminars on how to avoid conflicts and claims, comply with contract requirements, and communicate and work with customers to ensure that we do what we say we are going to do when we say we are going to do it.
Bill stays in active and regular contact with leaders throughout the company, and visits branch offices and jobsites, to provide additional oversight and review that procedures are followed and problems avoided.
Expertise
A member of the Shambaugh team since 2007, Bill has over 20 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Shambaugh, Bill represented owners, contractors and subcontractors in the construction industry with regard to resolution of project disputes and drafting of contracts.
In addition to contracts, dispute resolution and claims avoidance, Bill is also involved in labor agreement compliance and employment matters at Shambaugh. Bill is a proud member of several organizations, including the Building Contractors Association for which he sits on the Government Affairs and Workforce Development Committees.
He serves as Chair of the Northeast Indiana Construction Alliance and maintains membership with several State Bars. Bill also serves as trustee of several pension and health and welfare plans. Bill holds a Bachelor’s in Philosophy and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from The Catholic University of America, and an MBA from Duquesne University.
Bill is licensed to practice law in Indiana, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, as well as a number of federal jurisdictions. Staying on top of issues that impact our industry and our customers’ interests, Bill stays current with construction, legal, employment, and labor continuing education and seminars presented by leading industry experts and organizations.
The Personal Side
Bill and his wife of more than 20 years have three children. Bill enjoys spending his free time with this family, taking advantage of opportunities to travel and visit family, friends and other fun spots. He is active with his children in scouting, marching band, theater, guard and cross country.
