About Heidi
Biography
Attorney Heidi R. Cortez was raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She graduated from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis with a degree in Forensic and Investigative Sciences with an emphasis in Biology.
While obtaining her degree, Heidi interned at the Marion County Coroner’s Office. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law – Houston. During law school, Heidi interned with the Harris County Prosecutor’s Office in Houston, Texas. Additionally, she was a legal assistant at the Law Office of Perry Bass in Houston, Texas.
After graduating from law school at the beginning of the pandemic, she came home to Indiana.
Since returning home and passing the Indiana State Bar, Heidi has been practicing law in northeast Indiana.
Her main practice focus is criminal law, and she can also help with family law and civil law issues.
In Heidi’s spare time, she loves spending time with her family or reading a good fiction novel.

Best attorney I've had..
Excellent attorney. I hired her for a Steuben County charge. Things moved a bit slow for a while but only because the prosecutors office was not giving her the evidence they claimed they had. She worked very hard to get me a good deal and did. Really nice lady and understanding.
