Most people don't think about Central America when they think of forced marriage. MP was 14 years old when her parents forced her to marry a man that was 12 years older than her. The parents were evang ... elical Christian extremists that insisted she marry an older man that they saw her speaking to in town on her way home from school.Our office was able to successfully assist her in receiving asylum status. A year later we helped her process her adjustment of status and I had the pleasure of handing her the green card when it arrived. Very rewarding for me and MP was so thankful and relieved. This case had been pending over 3 years.
