I don't understand the two complaining reviews here. First of all, Scott was trained as a mediator--which in family law where children are often involved, is a very good thing. (If you're looking for a hired assassin, then don't bother calling Scott.) Second, Scott understands the situation of dads a...nd their special challenges in a system which sometimes is tilted toward Mom. Third, Scott is upfront about the projecting costs and is willing to be flexible with clients who are struggling financially. Finally, he has great and lengthy experience in Porter County where he knows all the players and what to expect from them--this is a big advantage. Bottom line: you want a guy who will sometimes protect you from yourself. Can't recommend him too highly.

I had this lawyer for my divorce from July 2012 to June 2013. It was extremely hard to get ahold of him. When we got the other parties FDF, I had comments, but he never did anything with them. I had a request for a subpeona for my retirement and 401 k earned before marriage, but he never sent it.... My FDF turned out to be poor and missing information, due to his lack of advice and followup. Had Motion to Quash against me when opposing council objected to my incomplete FDF. In May he started saying that he had a personal problem with opposing council, Arnie Coons. He said their relationship was adversely affecting my case. I took that opportunity to get a new lawyer. But I had just paid him to go into mediation, so he has a bunch of my money and won't give it back. He replied to my email that he would look at it that day and get back to me, but that was a month ago. He won't return my call to him. He did help me a lot with considering the kids and helped me with taking a job out of the area, because it was best for the long term. But you can't pay a lawyer for this kind of help and let all the real lawyer stuff not get addressed.
